Join the Spooky Blogfest for Halloween!

Denise Covey is hosting a fun Halloween blogfest. We might not be big on the actual trick or treating here in Australia, but we do like our spooky stories!
Want to write something spooky for Halloween? Pop on over to Denise's site:
to join up.  You could write a story... or a haiku!

On my new site for kids and teens, I show how to write a spooky haiku - you can check it out at:

I'll be sharing a story here on October 30, and I look forward to reading a few spooky tales!

  1. We don't really celebrate Halloween either here in Belgium. Otherwise it would have been my favorite holiday.

  2. Halloween isn't really celebrated here in Germany either. Gosh, I miss those corn candies. *sigh*

  3. It's not part of our tradition here in Jamaica, but since we seem to adopt everything American it's been creeping in especially in the form of theme parties. I'd signed up for the blogfest.

  4. Charmaine, thank you so much for the shout out. Looking forward to reading yours, and many other creepy stories. And, like Joy and a lot of other people, I thought Halloween was an American tradition, but it's actually British - All Hallow's Eve. I can't see it ever becoming a big deal here in Oz.
I'm hoping we'll make at least 30 this time, but an awful lot of reading during NaNo...:)

  5. I'm interested in reading other people's spooky stories, though I must admit that I scare easily. It's sometimes hard for me to remember that scary stories really are fictional and that the villains aren't going to pop out and get me.

  6. This sounds like fun, but I'll just read since we'll be in Salem, MA for Halloween.

    Can't wait! :)

  7. I think Halloween is starting to pick up in Australia. Each year I'm seeing more and more Halloween paraphernalia in the shops.
